Youth and Family Services Center
Building a Healthier Future for Our Children
Every child deserves a safe place to be heard, supported and understood.
Peninsula Behavioral Health is creating a new Youth and Family Services Center in Port Angeles to expand access to compassionate, specialized behavioral health care for children, adolescents and families throughout Clallam County.
This approximately 15,000-square-foot, purpose-built facility will provide welcoming, trauma-informed spaces where young people can heal, families can find support and hope can grow.
Our Community’s Children Need More Room to Heal
The need for youth behavioral health care is growing. During the past year, PBH served 893 children—an increase from 735 the previous year.
Our current youth clinic operates in a renovated commercial building with only 10 clinical offices and limited space designed specifically for children and families. As more young people seek support for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, substance use and other behavioral health needs, the limitations of the current facility make it increasingly difficult to meet the community’s needs.
The new Youth and Family Services Center will give PBH the space and resources to serve more children, expand specialized programs and provide care in an environment created with young people and families in mind.
More Care, Closer to Home
The new Center will allow PBH to strengthen existing services while developing new areas of specialized care for children and families.
Opportunities for expanded programming include:
- Autism assessment, support and services
- Eating disorder treatment
- Suicide prevention and intervention
- Expanded substance use disorder services
- Trauma-informed individual, family and group therapy
- Play, sensory and art-based therapy
- Extended service hours
- Stronger partnerships with local schools
- Education and support for parents and caregivers
By expanding these services locally, PBH can help reduce the need for families to travel outside Clallam County to find appropriate care.
More Than a Building
The Youth and Family Services Center will be a place where:
A child can express difficult feelings through art or play.
A teenager can talk openly without fear of judgment.
Parents and caregivers can find guidance, resources and support.
Families can strengthen their relationships and begin healing together.
Community partners can gather, learn and collaborate.
This Center will be a lasting investment in the health and well-being of our community—serving children and families for generations to come.
Help Us Build Hope
PBH has launched a capital campaign to fund the new Youth and Family Services Center. The estimated project cost is $11.4 million, and support from individuals, businesses, foundations and community partners will be essential to bringing this vision to life.
Every gift, at every level, helps create a place where children and families can receive the care they need, close to home.
To support the Youth and Family Services Center capital campaign, contact PBH’s Development Department at dev@peninsulabehavioral.org or call (360) 457-0431.
Together, we can build more than a facility. We can build a future in which every young person in our community has the opportunity to heal, grow and thrive.
Be Part of Their Future
Behind every statistic is a child, a family and a story. Your support can help ensure that when a young person reaches out for help, compassionate care is available in a space created especially for them.
