Youth and Family Services
We’re here to support your entire family.
At Peninsula Behavioral Health, we believe that every young person deserves access to quality therapy and behavioral health care. Our Youth Services team works hard to help each young person identify and build on their strengths to find their path to wellness/recovery.
Our team of compassionate professionals includes licensed Mental Health Professionals, WISe Care coordinators, Parent Peers, and Youth Peers. The dedicated staff of the Youth Services department is uniquely qualified to help Clallam County youth and families.
How to make your first appointment
Your journey at PBH begins with your screening and intake appointment. You will meet with an Access Specialist who will collaboratively determine your needs and discuss available resources.
After your access appointment, you will be matched with a clinician and make your next appointment for services.

“WISe” strategies help young people thrive.
Washington State implemented Wraparound Intensive Services, or “WISe”, and Peninsula Behavioral Health brought the first WISe teams to Clallam County. The program uses a team-based approach to provide services and is available to Medicaid eligible youth under age 21 who are experiencing complex behavioral health needs.
Wraparound works to honor the family voice and choice, identify strengths, build natural supports, and foster self-sufficiency. Teams provide comprehensive behavioral health services to avoid or reduce disruptive out-of-home placements. Click here to learn more.
WISe Eligibility and Screening
WISe is available to Medicaid-eligible children and youth from birth to age 21 that meet access to care standards.
To ask for a screening, contact PBH at (360) 457-0431.
- If you are a youth over the age of 13, you can ask for a WISe screening to find out if you are eligible. If you are under 13, you need permission from your parent or legal guardian.
- If you are a parent, you can refer your child for a WISe screening at any time, but after age 13, a child must consent to services.

What happens next?
- Complete the Child Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) screening tool (26 questions) either over the phone or in-person.
- If the screening tool shows you are:
- Eligible — do need this level of care: a WISe provider agency will assign a team and all care will be coordinated through the agency/team.
- Not eligible — do not appear to need this level of care: you will be referred to other mental health services, appropriate to your needs.
Teens and kids deserve their own safe space.
In 2019, Peninsula Behavioral Health opened the Youth Services Center to provide a safe and separate place for Clallam youth and their families.
Having their own designated space makes coming to therapy less intimidating for children and young adults. It also provides our Youth Services staff with the room and resources they need to provide the highest quality care possible.
Client-centered services that focus on family.
Our array of services for children and families is client-centered and includes outpatient therapy, family treatment, school and community based interventions, and wrap around services.
Your PBH team will work with your family to find resources that work for you. If you’d like to learn more about accessing services, please call us at (360) 457-0431.
